8/14/08 LAWSUIT UPDATE
To the Members of Local 419,
The Department met with
Central Payroll and the figures were entered into the system. Central
payroll is waiting for one more form and has given the Department till
Monday morning to produce it. Central Payroll has said if they thought
it would be a problem with the Dept. producing the form it wouldn't have
entered the figures.
With this said the checks
should be in on Friday 8/22. I will post something Monday night after I
speak with Central Payroll.
Fraternally,
Troy Salvetti

To
all members of Local 419,
As many of you may have heard, I have been appointed Chairman of the
local 419 Officers Relief Association by our President Tom Flynn. In the
last 6 weeks I have had many conversations with many of you with regards
to how the officers fund was viewed within our dept, in addition to some
of the things you would like the fund to accomplish.
I have had several conversations with members of the Boston Police,
Boston EMS, Chelsea Police, Revere Police and Winthrop Police relief
associations to not only bounce some ideas around about raising funds
for this important cause, but, also strengthen our relationship with
these associations in our county. I was very pleased with the support
these depts. showed me and look forward to working with them in the
future.
In the coming days and weeks my function as chairman will no doubt be
the most difficult as I am in the process of securing venders that can
offer us the best price on products such as shirts and window stickers
without compromising quality. I would ask that if you have any ideas on
apparel from key chains to golf shirts let me know.
My tallest task that lies ahead is building a team that can help me get
this association to a place where it is effective in helping our members
in times of need. I have some great ideas to get us to that point and am
excited about the future. From a 2009 SCSD calendar to a 2009 awards
banquet, this association will be much more than shirts and hats. If you
are interested in joining me on the board do not hesitate to call me
(3-11 shift).
In closing I would like to thank Tom Flynn and all members of the
E-Board for giving me this opportunity to rebuild something that will
have a direct effect on every member of this department. I am truly
excited about the future of this association, and promise that every
facet of this association will center around one thing... you. This is
your fund, I will never loose sight of that.
Sincerely,
Greg Christian
